Don’t cross my path!

Just call me Gesa

Gesa got her start in mountain biking early, when her brother taught her his own tricks and maneuvers. She soon made it her own sport and pursued it as a teenager; doing intensive training and participating – and regularly winning – in regional competitions. Gesa is a born competitor, and actually got her start in cyclecross racing because she was using it as winter training, keeping her in shape for the summer competitions. It was only five years ago that she began participating in cyclecross seriously, also preparing for the winter competitions with the goal of winning.  Since last year, her focus has completely reversed, and she now concentrates exclusively on cyclecross, racing MTB to keep her fit throughout the summer.

Gesa’s Saddle

For cyclecross and MTB, Gesa’s favorite saddle is the Senso VL VL 1250 Carbon, which she especially likes because of its slim “nose”: “This saddles gives me an easy slide on and off, but comfortable, reliable support during steep ascents.” The VL 1491 Carbon saddle with its special VexFoam cushioning is her choice for classic street racing: “This special cushioning is light and firm, with the perfect amount of comfort in all the right places.” Gesa rides Stevens bikes exclusively. “They are terrific bikes. I’m proud that Velo and Stevens have placed their confidence in me to demonstrate and test their outstanding equipment for them!”

Gesa’s life

Gesa’s ambition is beating in two hearts at the moment. In her last year of training to become a certified physical therapist, she is fully focused on completing her studies with a high average. On the hand, she refuses to lose traction regarding her cycling goals and is busy every minute with the one challenge or the other.  Her special passion for designing and sewing her own fashion creations has had to take a back seat, and cooking for friends, which she loves, is what her friends do for her now, instead. Her music is house, live bands and Tracy Chapman. Her reading taste is adventurous: “The Life of Pi” by Yann Martel. Her favorite winter sport other than cyclecross? Easy: cross-country skiing.
