Velo Saddles Explains the innovation behind its Wing Bow Technology
Feb 11th 2017 [Taichung, Taiwan]
Velo recently released a series of saddles using its latest patented technology—Wing Bow. Designed for the sports and recreational rider, Wing Bow adds support to the saddles. Utilizing a bow-shaped structure that sits under the base, creating no harsh or uncomfortable ride feel. The bow structure works perfectly for flex padding. The wing flexes under normal conditions, providing initial comfort for pedaling. The wing then provides progressively more resistance and a firmer flex as the saddle moves through its movement. This means that small vibrations can be accommodated for just as well as bigger hits like potholes and curbs.
Wing Bow Technology is particularly effective at increasing comfort in wider saddles. Using this secondary support structure, the Wing Bow technology allows the saddles to maintain their desirable cushioning properties across a range of conditions. The application for this saddle is intended both for traditional recreation and commuter cyclists, but also e-bike riders, who are likely to encounter road damage and other hazards at a higher rate of speed. Velo Saddles will be releasing a range of Wing Bow saddles in 150 mm, 160 mm, 200 mm, and 215mm widths.
