D2 (Double Density) Velo patent, it's one of our strong points. Largely used in our products, it is based on a polypropylene base which permanently holds two wide thermoformed Kraton™ inserts in the rear parts inside the same resin shell. The softening performance of these two inserts allows maximum comfort to the sit bones which carry most of the cyclist's weight. At the same time, the elastic inserts maintain all of the characteristics of strength and durability required by the base structure of the saddle. The D2 technology is available on a wide range of models. |

Arctech™ A unique patent from Velo. A system of connecting the rails to the shell that allows some overall flexibility to aid in general comfort. This flexibility is due to the rails being slightly suspended from the base and positioned at the outermost points of the saddle leaving a wider length of the shell free to flex and absorb shock. This technology is not only durable but also aids in keeping the weight extremely low.

Webspring™ Velo patent. Designed expressly for recreational cycling. It completely substitutes the classical side by side insertion of long springs and provides greater comfort. Webspring is a system composed of a kind of spider's web of nine coil springs which extend radially from the pad in the center area of the seat. The cyclist therefore distributes his weight in a more uniform manner on this floating platform, obtaining a sensation of lightness, relaxation and easier pedaling.

Memory Foam Velo extra-comfort saddle technology. This viscoelastic material was born in NASA laboratories in the early seventies and is known today for receiving wide recognition in the biomedical sector in the form of orthopedic pillows and mattresses. It has a structure consisting of open microscopic cells which deform during compression to adapt themselves to the form of the body. Another characteristic of Memory Foam is that it is thermo-sensitive, a characteristic that makes it always sufficiently elastic when it comes into contact with the heat of the human body. The low shape memory makes it stable and resistant to permanent deformation even after intense and prolonged use.

Globe Suspension A Velo Technology that uses a large round elastomer attached to the saddle rails to give the rider a suspension like ride. The elastomer material also effectively dampens road vibration and moves with the rider. This gives the sensation of total comfort and ease of riding.

Air Cushion A Velo Technology that supports the rider on a cushion of air. This air bladder type comfort feature is built into the base of the saddle and is totally adjustable by an external Schrader valve or pump. The result is a custom comfort feature that is comfortable, lightweight, and easily adjustable to the riders needs.

ViseGrips™ ViseGrips™ = The patented Velo ViseGrips™ system is the final solution of all grip-mounting problems. The ViseGrips™ system consists of a rigid tubular structure in polypropylene that can be assembled or disassembled an unlimited number of times without effort in a couple of seconds. The fastening onto the handlebar is due to one (or two, depending on the version) small ring in a light alloy, fixed by a threaded allen bolt (which acts directly on the surface) to the curve itself, permanently securing the handle. The handle grip adhesion is reinforced by Kraton™.

Gel Tape GEL TAPE A great Velo patent. Gel tapes combine the physical properties of gel (resistance to stretching, heat, solvents, water, aging) with a high level of vibration damping. Gel is applied in the form of a continuous strip on the handlebar tape. Available on the entire range of Velo tapes in any material, even polyurethane, allowing a level of comfort not seen before.
